Kaşgarlı Mahmut spoke of a game that the Turks call as "Tepük" (Kick). This game is very similar to today's football. In the Ottoman period, it is observed that there have been sports activities such as horse riding, wrestling, circumnavigation and javelin.

In the 19 and 20th Centuries, with the industrial revolution, sports activities began to take place in a capitalist order. In this period, with the invention and popularization of football in England, the opening of the world market and again in this period, the reorganization of the Olympics in Ancient Greece began to bring sports to the forefront in the world.  Today, in sports organizations, through the sponsors, great amounts are being mentioned.
