OUR MEMBERSHIPS CIVIL SOCIETY ORGANIZATIONS AND OUR PROJECTS
As İvogsan, we attach importance to participate in non-governmental organizations. We believe that sectoral advancement can be achieved via multivocality. In accordance with this purpose, we took part in the foundation of Ankara Translation Association and International Translation Federation. We are taking all these steps both for our young friends who will take a new step in the translation sector and continue their education in this field, as well as to expand and further our field.
COMMON PROJECTS WITH NGOs
We held two meetings which brought together our stakeholders in the sector and as ANKAÇED and İvogsan Translation. We have united masters and apprentices in order to guide our young colleagues who are in the awake of stepping into the translation sector.
We started working with the Sign Language Translators Association in order to work not only in the written and oral field of translation but also in the field of sign language and to focus on this field of translation and develop projects together.
We made several visits to the Turkish Notaries Union and conveyed the demands of our sector stakeholders regarding certified/sworn translation and interpretation.
In order to represent our municipality in the international arena better, we held negotiations with the Association of Municipalities of Turkey. We regularly debate on necessary issues.
We are in touch with our universities. We prevent them from losing their interest and information by missing the recent, current and future developments. Also, our academicians prevent us from breaking the bonds to the academic world by informing us about the scientific backgrounds of the conducts in the world of science. By this means, our sector maintains the cooperation with the universities.
WE KNOW THE IMPORTANCE OF ORGANISING
We know the translation market may become stronger thanks to organised bodies and in this direction, we advise our translator colleagues to participate in and be members of non-governmental organizations. Thus, we find basis to take necessary steps in translations sector in our country. In the course of time, we have achieved to form quite strong organizations. The last example of this is the establishment of the International Translation Federation which was founded uniting the forces of 5 different active associations in 4 metropolitans in the country.
